Due to our sedentary lifestyles the prevalence of Osteoporosis in the UK is rising.

It is estimated that in the UK 50% of women and 20% of men over 50 will suffer a fracture.

​

Osteoporosis is the term given to a lowered in bone density and the resulting increased risk of fracture. Many of these fractures occur at the hip and wrist but also can occur in the spine.

 

Recommendations include exercise that involves:

 

       weight-bearing

       resistance

       impact
